Daily 5 Creations

Just wanted to share a few Daily 5 creations I have made. They were for purchase, but had to be taken down due to copyright issues. I have since reposted these creations as freebies with a blurb about "The Sisters" attached (as detailed by TPT).

Daily 5 Choice Cards (with stripes and chevron patterns)

The clipart for both freebies matches to ensure students mark the correct Daily.

Please comment if you are able to use these or have any suggestions.
Have a fabulous Tuesday!

So very cute....I am having a hard time deciding which D5 cards to use because everyone has such great ideas. I am downloading them all and deciding later on. :)
I had just downloaded Mrs. Bainbridge's copy of the weekly checklist. I really think I like this idea. (I downloaded yours also.)Could you tell me a little about how/when you use it in your classroom? Do the students mark them off as they go to that D5 or do they pick their D5 at the beginning of the day? Thanks for any ideas that you may have.

Thank you Tammy! This will be my first year using Daily 5 in my classroom. I'm going to use the chart when my students are choosing their Daily choice for the day. Once they choose, they will mark it on their chart to have a record of their choice. (In other words, they'll mark them as they go.) I'm still working on the details of Daily 5 in my classroom too. This book study is helping me out tremendously!

Sounds good. I was thinking of using the chart at the beginning of the day as their morning routine. Once they have put their backpacks away, filled up their water bottles, put homework in the basket and all that other great stuff that we have them do. I'm thinking I want it displayed in my room too using a pocket chart. Not sure. It may take up too much room. I will have to see when I start putting my room back in order.

Love the picture checklist for students. Not only is it cute as all get out, but it will just make more sense to my little guys. And . . . you had my heart at chevron. Great signs :) Glad I found you today.

Great freebies, thank you! Would you start using the check off sheet once you start letting students make their own choices? I've seen so many ideas for organizing Daily Five in the classroom I'm just trying to put it all together in a way that works for me. It seems in the beginning they wouldn't need a check off sheet because everyone is doing the same thing. ?? I think I need to check out some Daily Five videos to visualize how this all looks in the classroom. Has anyone watched them? Thanks! Heather

I think I'll start using this chart after the students are making their own choices. After I've introduced at least three of the choices. I've watched a few videos, but it seems I'm getting even better ideas from everyone participating in the book study. I love how teachers know how to bounce ideas around with each other. Professional learning at its best :o)

I know last year I did not start using my checklist until I started having students make their choices. When the students started making choice, I began small. The students only had two choices to start with. So for example, they could choose between read to self or read to someone. It made it a little easier for them to understand the process. After I introduced the next daily then they would have three choices. It worked out really nice. It was a gradual understanding of what choices they had or could make for the day. It worked really well for me and I will probably do the same thing this year but I will introduce my dailies a little faster because I'm understanding the process better this year.
